The music, art and cultural diversity of District 2 draw people from all over the world. District 2 has a rich history of housing artists and is home to hundreds of murals and iconic cultural spaces and districts. With potential cuts in federal aid to this realm, Carlina is committed to standing up to save the arts by fighting for:
Our community is home to the Fourth Arts Block Cultural District (FAB), which supports a dozen arts groups and 100,000 square feet of cultural space. This vision to secure funding to make FAB permanent was made possible through community collaboration. FAB is a model for how City Councilmembers can work with local cultural organizations to help them. Carlina is committed to keeping arts as a core subject in a STEAM curriculum and supporting programs that provide opportunities for expression and exposure to cultural institutions.
